Tampa: Catholic youth attend Youth Day

Jim and Mary Clemmer returned Sunday from a two-week vacation. They visited their granddaughter and husband, Chris and Dahn Walker in Leslie, Ga. All attended the Miss Spirit Georgia and Miss Teen Spirit Georgia pageant. A friend of Dahn's earned the crown, taking first in both the swimsuit and talent competitions. The Clemmers also visited former President Jimmy Carter's childhood home and museum at Plains, Ga. Mary brought back a magnolia seed from the Carter home to see if it will grow here. In Tennessee on the way home they saw the home of President James Polk's parents and the Saturn manufacturing plant. They visited Tom and Maxine Knight at Carthage, Tenn. The Knights took them sightseeing, including a visit to their son Jeff Knight's home. The younger Knight is a country and western performer and song writer. The Clemmers visited their granddaughter and family, Nyle and Kathi Sutton, Alex, Kyle, and Meaghan in Topeka.
Jim and Mary Clemmer went to Salina Monday to visit Shawn and Karin Clemmer and Blayke and their houseguests, Chris and Dahn Walker of Leslie, Ga.
Reuben and Lucille Kerbs attended the Festival of the Reformation service Sunday afternoon at St. John's Lutheran Church of Lyon's Creek. Barney, Linda, and Megan Bernhardt and Megan's friend Danielle of Wichita were Sunday dinner guests of Adeline Bernhardt.
Eleanor Murphy and Martha Melcher were Sunday evening visitors of Helen Schwartzman.
Paul and Edna Backhus visited Hugo and Naomi Wendt in Abilene Saturday evening.
Adeline Bernhardt and Leona Kleiber accompanied Lynn and Peggy Kleiber and Nicholas to Lost Springs Saturday evening for supper.
Reuben and Lucille Kerbs went to a hamburger fry Sunday noon at Trinity Lutheran parish hall in Ramona. The occasion was a benefit for Clinton Hanschu sponsored by Thrivent Branch #1439 (formerly the AAL).
Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt visited Milda Krauter Saturday afternoon at Marion Manor.
Those joining Kathy Davis for morning coffee at the café Friday as a belated celebration of her birthday included Pastor Clark Davis, Lois Sklenar, Leona Kleiber, Adeline Bernhardt, Lucille Kerbs, Evelyn Hensley, Lola Teetzen, Betty Mueller, Joyce Medley, and Ed Meisinger.
