Tampa: Families observe Father s Day

Enjoying a Father's Day picnic at Marion County Lake Sunday were Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Lorie Moldenhauer, and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna. Activities included fishing and swimming. In the evening, Lisa took James and Anna to Ramona to spend some time with Jim and Jeanne Weber and family and Norma Weber.

Deb Hall and Kaylee of Herington were Father's Day visitors of Tom and Dee Duggan. They brought cards and gifts from Darla Hall and Adam, as well as themselves. Darla and Adam called with greetings of the day.

Julie Kerbs and Rustyn spent the weekend in Wichita, where Rustyn participated in a soccer tournament.

Cassie Clemmer and Tiffany Helmer of Salina camped out Saturday night in Jim and Mary Clemmer's backyard. They were breakfast guests of the Clemmers before returning home. Dale and Sandy Clemmer and Shawn and Karin Clemmer and Blayke of Salina were Sunday supper guests. Shawn, Karin, and Blayke stopped here after taking his sister and husband, Dahn and Chris Walker, to the Wichita airport. They were flying back to their home in Georgia after spending some time in Salina for Dahn's class reunion.

Sunday dinner guests of Paul and Edna Backhus were Tom and Bev Reid of Marion County Lake. Mike and Jennifer Jay of Hillsboro, Brad Backhus, Jason Backhus, and Sara Houdyshell. Kathy Backhus was working and unable to attend.

Eleanor Murphy, Martha Melcher, Tillie Hein, and Helen Schwartzman attended a card party in Herington Sunday evening.

Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt visited Milda Krauter at Marion Manor in Marion Sunday afternoon.

Tom Moldenhauer spent the weekend in Joliet, Ill., with his mother Carol Moldenhauer and other family members.

Russ Kerbs was a Sunday dinner guest of his parents, Reuben and Lucille Kerbs.

John and Pat Schwartzman of Salina spent Sunday with his mother Helen Schwartzman.

Anna Mae Stika and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki spent Saturday in Newton. They played miniature golf and saw the movie, "Finding Nemo."

Jim and Mary Clemmer went to Beloit Saturday for the all-star eight-man football game. Kyle Luna and Curtis Gutsch, both new graduates of Centre High, were playing.

Russ Kerbs took Ashton Kerbs and Jesse Smith of Salina and Reuben and Lucille Kerbs out for breakfast Saturday morning.

Juanita Pope of Houston, Texas, and Paula McCreigh of Wichita visited Tillie Hein Sunday afternoon.

Adeline Bernhardt visited Tom and Dee Duggan on Friday. Jim Clemmer also has visited a couple of times while Tom is recuperating from surgery.

Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt visited Milda Krauter at Marion Manor and Lorraine Havlik at her home in Marion June 11.

Carolyn Duggan of Hutchinson met Tom and Dee Duggan in Newton June 11 and stayed with Dee while Tom underwent surgery.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs and Rustyn Kerbs met Connie Thompson and Taylor of Abilene at Elmo June 8. Taylor returned to Tampa with them to spend a few days with her grandparents. All attended the men's softball game here Sunday evening and the baseball game at Peabody Monday evening. Rustyn played on Centre's team. Reuben, Lucille, and Rustyn took Taylor home Tuesday evening. They, along with Doug and Connie Thompson, watched Taylor's coach pitch game and went out to eat afterward. Rustyn spent a lot of time playing with Taylor during her Tampa visit.

Tom and Dee Duggan attended the tee-ball game in Burdick the evening of June 9. Their granddaughter, Kaylee Hall, was playing. Kaylee returned home with them to stay overnight.

Leona Kleiber was a June 10 supper guest of Lynn and Peggy Kleiber, Andrea and Nicholas.

Maurice and Twila Pritz visited Tom and Dee Duggan June 9.

Lori Moldenhauer, Lisa Hanschu, and Anna Mae Stika were hostesses June 7 for a bridal shower for Rusty and Samantha Beamis in Herington.

Jim Clemmer was recently named Lion of the Year for this zone.

Tom and Dee Duggan met Don and Betty Frick of Topeka at Ramona June 9 for dinner out.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, and Michaela Antoczik attended a dance recital in Council Grove the evening of June 6. Anna Weber was among the students performing. (Lori Moldenhauer attended June 5.)

In last week's news the names of Margaret Jirak and Lucille Bernhardt were accidentally omitted from the list of senior citizens visiting the Rolling Hills Zoo. Apologies, ladies.
