A winter storm moved into this area on Saturday bringing ice and about six inches of snow through the weekend. This is one reason news is a bit meager this week. Most churches in the area canceled services Sunday, and many other events were rescheduled.

Rustyn Kerbs spent Monday with his grandparents, Reuben and Lucille Kerbs. Russ Kerbs was an additional breakfast guest.

Lynn and Peggy Kleiber and Nicholas brought supper Sunday evening to Leona Kleiber.

Diane Herron, Andrew and Peter of Wichita and David Rziha of Lawrence arrived Saturday to visit Jerry and Jeanne Rziha and Julie. The Herrons returned home Monday after the roads were cleared. Dave will stay with his parents for a month while doing a rotation at a Council Grove pharmacy.

Ryan Spohn and Adam of Manhattan were dinner guests Saturday of Gary and Carole Spohn. Georgia Spohn paid a brief visit.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs went to Abilene Saturday to attend a basketball game where their granddaughter, Taylor Thompson, played. Doug and Connie Thompson of Abilene also were present.

Tampa's own Aaron Barney was crowned king Friday evening at Centre's homecoming game. Other candidates were Brent Carlson, Eric Peterson, and Travis Burns. Trichia Pauls was queen. Tampa young people also were prominent in her court, the other candidates being Amanda Kleiber, Laura Klenda, and Andrea Carlson.

Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn went to McPherson Friday for dinner out and shopping.

Ruby Vinduska of Pilsen, Adeline Bernhardt, and Leona Kleiber were among many Tampa people attending the homecoming game at Centre. One of the queen's attendants, Amanda Kleiber, is Leona's granddaughter. Tom and Dee Duggan also attended the game.

Ashton Kerbs of Salina, Reuben and Lucille Kerbs, and Russ and Julie Kerbs attended the Kansas Day program Thursday at Centre High School. Rustyn Kerbs was among the fifth and sixth grade students participating.

Leona Kleiber and Adeline Bernhardt joined Milda Krauter and other Marion Manor residents and their families for a potluck supper Jan. 27 at the home.

Ernie Bonham and his friend Brenda of Tyro and Deb Hall and Kaylee of Herington visited Jan. 21 with Tom and Dee Duggan.
