Tampa: Senior club dines, plays bingo

Members of Sunflower Senior Citizens enjoyed dinner at the café Tuesday followed by a business meeting and card bingo at the senior center. Plans were made for an outing to Ellinwood Thursday. Those present included Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, Margaret Jirak, Magdalen Dvorak, Tillie Hein, Martha Melcher, Jim and Mary Clemmer, Ruby Vinduska, and Bonnie Crandall.

Julie Rziha, Kristine Jirak, Gloria Belton, Christa Pretz, and Alisha Barney attended an FFA leadership conference from Monday to Wednesday at a camp near Great Bend.

Ophelia Jacobson of Hope, Phyllis Mueller, and Edna Backhus enjoyed supper out in Abilene Tuesday evening and attended a production of "The Music Man" at the Abilene community theater.

Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn were guests of Steve Spohn and Sherry Kerch for supper out in Abilene Tuesday evening. Steve and Sherry returned home to Fayetteville, Ark., Wednesday after spending several days here.

Jane Vajnar was a Monday overnight guest of Marc and Wendy Stroede at Kanopolis. She met Glenn and Rebecca Cook at an Ellsworth restaurant for breakfast Tuesday morning. She was a dinner guest of Jon and Wanda Sneath at Carneiro. In the afternoon, she joined the Cooks and Sneaths at the Carneiro Cemetery for the burial of Glenn's mother, Nevalyn Cook.

Tillie Hein, Adeline Bernhardt, Edna Mueller, and Linda Ihde were among those attending the North Central Kansas Co-op picnic at the park in Hope Monday evening.

Youth from the Holy Family Catholic Youth Organization won first place in the regional CYO baseball tournament at McPherson Sunday. Team members were Nathan and Alisha Barney, Julie Rziha, Kristine Jirak, Seth and Jacob Jirak, Alphonse Klenda, Amanda Bina, Anna Laurin, and Isaac Horinek.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs and Rustyn Kerbs went to the Great Plains Theater in Abilene Sunday afternoon to see "The Music Man," in which Reuben and Lucille's granddaughter, Taylor Thompson, performed.

Edna Mueller, Adeline Bernhardt, and Tillie Hein played cards with friends at the senior center in Ramona Sunday evening.

Marguerite Goertz of Hillsboro and Georgia Spohn enjoyed dinner out in Hillsboro Saturday.

April Kerbs of Salina was a Saturday afternoon visitor of her grandparents, Reuben and Lucille Kerbs.

Adeline Bernhardt and Leona Kleiber met Peggy and Amanda Kleiber in Salina Friday for dinner out.
