Many farmers in the Tampa area have finished harvesting their wheat, but some fields are still too wet to cut.

There are movie stars in our midst. Border collie pups owned by Jonas and Kim Frantz were used in a movie filmed last week in Kansas City.

Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, and Jane Vajnar enjoyed dinner together Wednesday at the café.

Tillie Hein has attended the ball games in which her great-grandsons, Grant and Cole Srajer, have played.

Ryan Spohn of Manhattan spent Tuesday with his parents, Gary and Carole Spohn, and helped with harvest.

Andrea Kleiber visited her grandmother, Leona Kleiber, Monday afternoon.

Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn were after-church visitors Sunday of Reuben and Lucille Kerbs.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Tom and Lori Moldenhauer, and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna enjoyed a Father's Day picnic Sunday at Herington Lake. Later they had supper with cake and ice cream at the Stika home, where Nikki Stenzel was an evening visitor.

Martha Melcher and Tillie Hein went to the card party Sunday evening in Herington.

Phyllis Mueller was a Monday supper guest of Elda Ebel at Hillsboro. Elda's houseguests were Mike and Sheila Mueller and Saige of Cheyenne, Wyo. Phyllis also spent some time there on Saturday. Elda and Phyllis are Mike's grandmothers.

Tom Duggan attended a Lions Club meeting Saturday evening in Marion.

Connie Thompson, Allison and Taylor of Abilene took Reuben and Lucille Kerbs out for dinner Saturday as an early celebration of Father's Day. Reuben also received a number of cards and phone calls from other family members.

Tony Walsh of Wichita spent from Wednesday to Saturday with John and Kathy Oborny and Diane Steiner. He also spent some time with Dan and Kim Oborny, Ethan and Logan. He came to help John and Dan with wheat harvest. Mike and Sharon Benda also pitched in.

Diane Herron, Andrew, Peter, and Maria spent June 13-15 with Jerry and Jeanne Rziha and Julie. Julie went home with Diane for the weekend and helped her move from Solomon to Topeka, where Dr. Jim Herron has been working at the veterans' hospital since May 1.

Leona Kleiber visited Reuben and Lucille Kerbs Saturday afternoon.

Tom and Dee Duggan met Ernie and Darlene Kite of Bartlesville, Okla., at Sedan Friday. The Kites met Deb and Kaylee Hall at the Tulsa airport after their trip to Texas, and the Duggans brought them back home.

Jane Vajnar attended a computer class for senior citizens at Marion Middle School this past week. The morning class was taught by Sarah Waddell, a faculty member, and Andi Marshall, sixth grader. Jane learned that Sarah was the daughter of Clinton Marston, who had been one of her students at Roxbury High School more than 40 years ago. On Thursday, Jane stayed in Marion, visited Gene Costello at Marion Manor in the afternoon, and spent the evening with Rowena Olsen playing Trivial Pursuit.

Adeline Bernhardt and Leona Kleiber met Peggy and Amanda Kleiber in Salina Thursday for dinner out. Nicholas Kleiber, who had spent a few days here, accompanied them and returned home with his mother.

Bonnie Haslouer and Kirk and Carol Whitehair of Abilene and Jeanne Rziha flew to Chicago June 10, meeting Susan Denney of Independence and Mary Monaco of La Vegas at the Kansas City and Chicago airports, respectively. They all attended a party in Chicago in celebration of Marie Peterlin's 90th birthday. While they were there, they attended a beep baseball tournament in which the Whitehairs' son-in-law, Brett Sanders, was competing. Beep baseball is a competitive sport for the blind.

Don and Betty Frick of Topeka visited Saturday with Tom and Dee Duggan.
