Theo Kroupa
Theophil H. Kroupa, 82, died April 24, 2003, at St. Luke Hospital, Marion.
Born Nov. 18, 1920, on the family farm near Pilsen, he was the son of Joseph and Antonia (Shramek) Kroupa. He was raised in the Pilsen community, attended school there, and was a farmer and rancher in the Pilsen and Tampa communities.
He enjoyed playing trumpet and played in polka bands in the area. Kroupa was a member of Holy Family Parish of Marion County. He had previously attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at Tampa.
Theo was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Klenda) Kroupa in 1949.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Kenneth and Cathy Kroupa of Hutchinson; two brothers, Edmond Kroupa of Pilsen and Virgil Kroupa of Wichita; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The rosary was recited at 10 a.m. Monday morning at St. John Nep. Church, Holy Family Parish, Pilsen.
Mass of Resurrection followed the rosary at 10:30 a.m. Father Steve Gronert was the celebrant. Martin Kroupa was lector. Sharon and Chris Kuhn were gift bearers.
Music was provided by the Pilsen church choir. Charlene Svitak was organist.
Casket bearers were William Kroupa, Martin Kroupa, Stacy Smith, Kelvin Kroupa, Chris Brown, and Gerald Rziha.
Burial was in Pilsen Cemetery.
Memorial Funds have been established with St. John Nep. Church, Holy Family Parish, and Pilsen Community Center.
