Theodore Hanschu

Theodore "Ted" Hanschu, 79, died Nov. 24, 2002, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, the result of a highway accident Saturday on U.S.-56 on the north edge of Marion.

Born April 27, 1923, near Lost Springs, he was the son of the late Frederick and Katherine (Bernhardt) Hanschu.

He married Aileen Bird on May 4, 1947. She survives at the home in Marion.

The couple moved to Marion in 1976. Retired from farming, he worked in later years as a custodian for Marion schools.

Other survivors include son Steven of Emporia; daughter, Linda Bradley of Topeka; brother, Leonard Hanschu of Harlingen, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and one brother.

Services were held today, Wednesday morning, at Our Savior Lutheran Chuch with Pastor John A. Ryding officiating. Burial was in Lewis Cemetery, Ramona

A prayer service was held Tuesday evening at Zeiner Funeral Home.
