They did it again

Chingawassa Days committee members have done it again. They contracted to bring the highly popular Little River Band to play at the festival June 5.

Each year the Chingawassa committee comes up with ever better programs for the Central Park event.

In the past, bands such as Three Dog Night and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band have brought audiences from Kansas City, Wichita, and points in between. Local people have supported the festival, including concerts, which result in good clean entertainment and fun for all.

People from distant towns wonder how Marion County can be so fortunate as to contract for such headliners. They are envious of what has become one of Marion County's annual showcases.

This year will be no exception. Little River Band has been sought each of the past few years, but had conflicts. This year they could schedule the visit to Marion. The committee is thrilled to finally get them on the dotted line.

The band has sold more that 20 million albums worldwide.

Originating from Australia, Little River Band is noted for versatility as a pop/soft rock organization.

The annual festival will be held June 4, 5, and 6 with the headliner performance by Little River Band scheduled on Saturday night from the big professional stage among the stalwart trees of Central Park.
