Tickets on sale now for MHS musical

'Seussical the Musical' will be performed Nov. 19-21

Tickets for the Marion High School musical, "Seussical the Musical," went on sale Tuesday.

Three performances are scheduled this year for 7 p.m. Nov. 19 and 20 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 21 at Marion City Auditorium.

This will be the first year for the Sunday afternoon matinee.

"We thought the additional performance would give more people the opportunity to see the musical," said director and MHS instructor Janet Killough. "Over the years we've had people say they'd come out to see the play if it weren't at night."

The matinee isn't the only change. This will signal the first year admission has been charged for the musical.

"We've bought some new equipment, a new spotlight, and we need to cover some expenses," Killough explained. "With budget cuts and everything we felt we needed to charge admission."

Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for children 12 and under. Reserved seating is necessary for the Friday and Saturday performances. Tickets are available at Quick Flick in Marion.

The Sunday matinee does not require reserved seating, but those planning on attending still need to purchase a ticket.

"People attending the Sunday performance need to come early for a good seat," Killough said.
