Tillie Hein celebrates 95th birthday years ago

Tillie Hein had a very busy weekend celebrating her 95th birthday. Her granddaughter, Kristin Srajer of Omaha, Nebr., came Friday and they attended the Prairie Pals hunter's luncheon on Saturday. Ron and Dolores Scott of Emporia took her Sunday to Abilene for a surprise family dinner at the Brookville Hotel. Those in attendance were Deb Scott of Branson, Mo., Becky, Daniel, Alex, and Emily Nottingham of Ozawkie, Pam and Bill Fillmore and Steve and Jan Fillmore of Cottonwood Falls, Don and Carolyn Srajer and Kristin Srajer of Omaha, Nebr.
Jerry and Jeanne Rziha went to Wichita Sunday evening to see "Fiddler on the Roof" at the Crown Uptown dinner theater.
Ryan and Claudette Spohn, Adam and Lauren of Manhattan, Gary and Carole Spohn, and Georgia Spohn attended the 125th anniversary celebration Sunday at the Christian church in Marion. Festivities included the morning worship service, a catered dinner at the city building, and a program and reception in the afternoon.
Stephanie Classen of Marion, Martha Melcher, and Eleanor Murphy were Sunday evening visitors of Helen Schwartzman and her house guest, Leroy Schwartzman.
Carolyn Duggan of Hutchinson, John Duggan, Jaraine Redger, and Tom and Dee Duggan enjoyed dinner Sunday at the café.
Craig and Teresa Srajer of Moline, Ill., attended the KU/Nebraska game and stayed through Monday with Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole and Tillie Hein.
Many Tampa Triple T's 4-H members, parents, and leaders attended the Marion County 4-H achievement banquet Saturday evening at the Tabor College cafeteria in Hillsboro. The club received a county award for its community service project. Jackie Klenda and Alisha Barney performed a comic skit as part of the program. County awards also went to the following individuals from Tampa: Shelby Deines, bucket calf; Justin Deines, bucket calf, junior plant science, and exploring 4-H; Cole Svoboda, bucket calf; Julie Rziha, junior clothing honorable mention and foods/nutrition; Rustyn Kerbs, junior entomology; Aaron Barney, senior livestock, sheep, and poultry; Alisha Barney, junior livestock and swine; Nathan Barney, junior livestock, swine, and poultry; Jessica Deines, senior plant science. Raschelle Jirak, Cecilia Rziha and Amanda Kleiber all received their 10-year membership pins. Other Tampa youngsters earning pins included Chad Mueller and Grant Srajer, membership pins; Justin Deines and Meghan Leihy, bronze pins; Gloria Belton, Rustyn Kerbs, and Cole Svoboda, clover pins; Shelby Deines and Jacob Jirak, emerald pins; Shaina Makovec, Sheila Makovec, and Isaac Leihy, silver pins; Kristine Jirak and Julie Rziha, leadership pins; Jessica Deines, Andrea Kleiber, and Krista Heiser, gold pins; and Amanda Kleiber and Jackie Klenda, gold guards. Congratulations, everyone.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs visited Connie Thompson, Allison and Taylor in Abilene Saturday afternoon.
Leroy Schwartzman of Ballwin, Mo. Spent from Nov. 4-10 with his mother Helen Schwartzman. Additional weekend guests were Dean and Renee Patton, Lauren, Andres, and Michael of McKinney, Texas. Martha Melcher and Eleanor Murphy were Saturday evening visitors.

Anna Mae Stika and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki went to Salina Saturday for dinner out.
Melody, Allison, and Danielle Routh of Augusta were Friday evening supper and overnight guests of their grandmother, Leona Kleiber. Adeline Bernhardt accompanied them Saturday morning to Goldie Steeley's sale at the Herington Community Center where Dean and Becky Routh joined them.
Lenora Graham of Florence, Ellen Darrow of Marion, and Georgia Spohn attended the Learning in Retirement program at Tabor College in Hillsboro Thursday morning and enjoyed dinner out.
The St. John's Lutheran Women's Missionary League met Wednesday evening in the church basement. Kathy Davis led the topic and Edna Backhus was hostess. Officers elected to serve in 2004 were Betty Mueller and Cindy Bentz, co-presidents; Elaine Backhus, vice-president; Leona Kleiber, secretary; Adeline Bernhardt, treasurer; and Joyce Medley, Christian growth chairman.
