Tim Williams
Fred Timothy Williams, 59, died Jan. 24, 2004, at St. Luke Living Center. He had suffered for 15 years from multiple sclerosis and died from complications of the disease.
Born April 20, 1944, at Marion, he was the son of John and Mable (Conyers) Williams.
Having lived all his life in Marion, he graduated from Marion High School with the class of 1962. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1964-1970.
He owned and ran the Ford tractor dealership in Marion before turning to farming full-time. Some of the land he farmed south of Marion included fields once owned by his paternal grandfather and namesake, Fred Williams, and his maternal grandfather, James Conyers.
Survivors include two brothers, John R. Williams of El Cajon, Calif., and Maurice G. Williams of Pinetop, Ariz.; a brother-in-law, Allen Meyers of Marion; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Inurnment service will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 21 at Claney Cemetery, rural Marion. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at Eastmoor United Methodist Church.
A memorial fund has been established with the American Cancer Society.
