Timothy Klenda

Timothy J. Klenda, 51, died July 3, 2003, at his home in Del City, Okla. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

The son of Leonard and Theresa (Polok) Klenda, he was born Aug. 30, 1951, at Hillsboro. He grew up in the Pilsen community and graduated from Centre High School in 1969.

Fishing was his favorite hobby.

He was an automobile mechanic. During the 1970s he worked at Marion Motor Center, then moved to Oklahoma about 20 years ago where he worked as a mechanic for an automobile dealership.

He was a member of the Catholic church and the Knights of Columbus.

Preceded in death by a sister, Isabel Klenda, he is survived by his parents Leonard and Theresa Klenda of Lincolnville; two daughters, Rebecca Klenda of Loveland, Colo., and Elizabeth Klenda of Fort Collins, Colo.; four brothers, Dennis, Valentine, and Stephen of Lincolnville, and Vincent of Salina; two sisters, Monica Leihy and Frances Mueller, both of Tampa; three grandchildren; and his special friend Tara Williams of Del City, Okla.

The Rosary was recited Sunday evening at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion. Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated Monday morning at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Holy Family Parish, Pilsen. Father Mark Wesely was the celebrant; Kristin Mueller, lector; Richard and Ralph Klenda, ushers; Tyler and Patrick Klenda and Isaac Leihy, gift bearers.

Music was by the church choir with Charlene Svitak as organist.

Mass servers were Alphonse Klenda, Sean Leihy, and Kevin Mueller.

Casket bearers were Dale Klenda, Brian Klenda, Phillip Klenda, Dean Klenda, Gregory Klenda, and Matthew Klenda.

Burial was in the church cemetery at Pilsen.

Memorial funds have been established to the Klenda family or St. Ann's Altar Society.
