Timothy Titus, public benefactor

The Squire of Luta Creek, Timothy Titus, is a public benefactor of the first water. He is the sort of person who has made this nation great, and will continue to do so in the future, perpetuating a trend that persists.

Tim supports his kids. He doesn't help with their homework or meet with teachers but he attends every ball game, sits on the front row, and yells louder at the officials than most other parents.

Tim is a religious person who shows his faith by listening to the "song of inspiration" each hour on the country music radio station. That fulfills his church obligation.

Tim's heart and pocketbook are full of charity. He'll dig deep at Christmas time to toss a dollar in the bell ringer's kettle. And he buys lottery tickets for worthy causes. In fact, Tim once won a blanket that way.

Tim supports his home community by purchasing locally. He buys water and electricity from the city. But his car carries a Wichita dealer's logo, his groceries come from the discount store, he goes to a doctor at the big regional medical center, buys his lumber from the huge home center, gets his prescription medication by mail, and surfs the net for bargains. However, he firmly believes in "shop at home" philosophy.

Too bad that Tim'll never read this tribute to his community support, because he doesn't subscribe to the newspaper. He's not interested in local advertising. He gets his news from the neighbors over the back fence. He also listens to radio, watches TV, and uses the throw away publication to line his bird cage — they're free.
