Top-selling cowboy poet to perform Sunday at Newton
The "singing cowboy poet," Michael Martin Murphey will perform at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Historic Fox Theatre, downtown Newton.
Cowboy singer Fred Hargrove and cowboy poet Michael Leonard also will perform.
Murphey is a self-taught musician who has been performing for more than 40 years in clubs, fairs, and world-class shows around the country. He also has received numerous awards for his music.
In Sunday's performance, he'll share the elements that the world loves about America's individualism, outdoor adventure, cowboys, Indians, and the song writing traditions of popular and "roots" American music.
