Transitory
The KU basketball team plays a transition offense and is good at it. They break away to go full court for a quick basket. The announcer describes it as transition.
Life also is transitory. When someone like Georgie Helmer Vogel goes through the untimely experience of life to death it is a tragic transition.
Again we are reminded of her spirit, personality, and friendship. Georgie was well known through her jobs at the quarry scale house and as an efficient part-time waitress at Kingfisher's Inn. In both capacities she served the public in a friendly manner.
But, we are reminded, life is transitory. All should take a lesson from Georgie. She knew not what awaited her that fateful day. None do. But her constant smile and friendship to all were marks of her style. She lived life to the fullest, up to the final instant. The rest of us should draw a lesson from Georgie Vogel's interrupted, but fulfilling, life which must be lived each instant for the next one could well be the last.
