United Way seeks volunteers
United Way of Marion County, an affiliate of Harvey County United Way is dedicated to making a measurable impact in every community across Marion County. United Way will bring diverse people and resources together to address the issues communities face. Through fund-raising, corporate and employee donations, and individual gifts, United Way in Marion County will support non-profit organizations and/or projects to help strengthen communities in Marion County.
United Way in Marion County is beginning its organizational plans for the 2003 campaign that will kick off later this summer. The advisory council for United Way in Marion County meets on the second Tuesday of each month alternating between Hillsboro and Marion.
Advisory council members are Jessie Nikkel, chairman, Cynthia Fleming, secretary/treasurer, Carl Long, vice president, Gordon Mohn, Donna Fisher, Vince Nikkel, Kelly Krch, Jim Elliott, Jan Helmer, and Angela Duerksen. More volunteers are needed from Durham, Peabody, and Marion.
Many members of the advisory council met with United Way staff on March 28 to begin planning the 2003 campaign.
