USD 408 estends principals' contracts years ago
The three building principals working in USD 408 public schools have a pretty good guarantee their jobs will still be available next school year.
The Marion-Florence Board of Education voted Monday to extend the principals' contracts until June 30, 2005, according to Gerry Henderson, USD 408 superintendent.
The three administrators are Stan Ploutz at Marion Elementary School, Tod Gordon at Marion Middle School, and Ken Arnhold at Marion High School.
During the regular board meeting on Feb. 10, the board held several executive sessions to discuss personnel, specifically principals' contracts. However, no decision was made at that meeting.
In an unrelated action, the board granted permission to the organization "Biking Across Kansas," for a group to utilize the district's gymnasium in Marion during an overnight stay on June 11.
