Vogel selected for all-star game
Marion High School basketball player Dale Vogel isn't done playing just yet.
Vogel, along with 19 other chosen area players, will compete in the Flint Hills Optimist Club all-star basketball game April 2 at the Civic Auditorium in Emporia.
There will be a banquet that afternoon, a three-point contest for all boy and girl competitors, the girls' game at 6 p.m., followed by the boys' game.
Vogel, who averaged 16 points and nine rebounds during the season will represent the home team in the game.
Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for students. All proceeds benefit youth projects throughout the Flint Hills area.
