Wanda Clarke

Wanda M. Trapp Clarke, 65, of Wichita, died Jan. 23, 2004, at Wesley Medical Center.

The daughter of John and Hazel F. (Kellogg) Martin, she was born Nov. 19, 1938, at Kansas City, Mo.

A former resident of Herington, she was a homemaker and member of St. John Catholic Church, Herington. She had lived in Wichita since 1994.

On Dec. 1, 1955, she married James Trapp at Herington. He died in 1989.

On May 6, 1994, she married C. Erick Clarke Sr., at Vista, Calif.

Survivors include her husband of Wichita; three sons, Greg Trapp of Lee's Summit, Mo., Quinn Trapp of Marion, and Mike Trapp of Herington; a daughter, Debra Beam of Herington; two stepsons, Charles (Chuck) Clarke Jr., and Jimmy Clarke, both of Taunton, Mass.; a stepdaughter, Ricelle Worley of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Alvin Martin of Paola and Gerald Martin of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Hazel Wendt of Herington; her mother-in-law, Eris Winstead of Jackson, Miss.; and 16 grandchildren.

A Christian funeral Mass was said Tuesday morning at St. John Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Wesely officiating.

A vigil service was held Monday evening at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington.

Burial was in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Herington.

A memorial fund has been established with the Johnson Cancer Center at Kansas State University.
