Warrior grapplers win three
Marion High School wrestlers scored three wins Saturday at the Southeast of Saline dual tournament.
They defeated St. John's Military Academy 48-6, Southeast of Saline 54-27, and Remington 30-27. They lost to Hillsboro 9-68.
"We took second place, which was a very good showing for our program," said coach Chad Adkins.
Marion picked up quite a few points against Southeast and St. John's by having enough wrestlers to fill most weight classes.
Remington was a satisfying victory because several open classes didn't lead to a loss.
"We were short a couple of wrestlers and still pulled out a win," Adkins said.
Hillsboro showed its skill and experience by dominating Marion. Warriors Jake Adkins and Steven Boone won their matches, but the rest were losses, including five open classes.
