Warrior wrestlers tune up for regionals
The Marion/Peabody combined high school wrestling team wrapped up the dual meet portion of its season Thursday at Hillsboro, scoring head-to-head wins against Lyons, 57-12, and Haven, 51-18.
"We finished the dual season very strong," said Warrior head coach Chad Adkins. "We seem to be peaking at the right time."
Adkins pointed out this was the final opportunity for some junior varsity wrestlers to compete this season.
"Sheldon Boone and Mark Kukuk both won matches tonight," Adkins said.
"They (junior varsity) have done a good job this year," praised Adkins.
With the Warrior varsity headed to regional competition Friday and Saturday in Burlington, Adkins expressed satisfaction with the way the season has progressed thus far.
"I've been pleased with our progress," Adkins said, "but we still have a lot of work to do."
