Warriors oust Alma-Wabaunsee
In their second-round game vs. Alma-Wabaunsee, the Warriors got a late-game scare from their opponents, but held on for the 3-2 victory.
Marion got on the scoreboard in the first inning and took a 1-0 lead.
Neither team scored, in the second or third innings, but Marion added two more runs in the fourth inning for a three-run advantage.
But Alma-Wabaunsee came back in the sixth inning, scoring two runs on five hits.
Despite the scare, the Warriors closed out Wabaunsee's final at-bat for the one-run win.
Moore faced 28 batters, struck out nine, and gave up seven hits and two runs.
Thomas led the way offensively going 1-for-2 hitting, and driving in one run.
