Wayne Knopp

Wayne L. Knopp, 82, of Woodbine, died May 6, 2004, at Memorial Hospital, Abilene.

Born Feb. 12, 1922, in Junction City, he was the son of Carl F. and Marie (Oesterreich) Knopp.

Knopp was a resident of Woodbine, involved in farming all his life. He was a member of Woodbine United Methodist Church, served on numerous boards, and was a 4-H leader of the Jolly Jayhawkers.

On Dec. 7, 1947, he married D. Marilyn Martsolf at Abilene.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Knopp, and his parents.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rodney Knopp of Woodbine and Mark Knopp of Chapman; two daughters, Glenda Rowland of Whitewater and Janis Reidlinger of St. Paul, Minn.; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Monday morning at Woodbine United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marilyn Cox officiating.

His remains were donated to the University of Kansas Medical Center, Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Kansas City.

A memorial fund has been established with the church.
