Wedding: Steven and Brett Lynn Spencer
Brett Lynn Sardou and Steven William Spencer, both of Salina, were married July 6, 2002, at a two o'clock ceremony at Valley United Methodist Church, Marion. The Rev. Kennedy Mukwindidza officiated at the double ring rites.
The bride is the daughter of Richard Sardou and Marjory Sardou, both of Marion. Gregory Spencer of Arvada, Colo., and Patricia Damron of Denver, Colo., are parents of the groom.
Candles were lighted by the groom's daughter, Nichole Spencer, and the bride's nephew, Dalton Sardou.
The Starr family string quartet of Emporia and Sarah Burke of Wichita accompanied by Jeannie Wildin of Marion provided musical selections.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a sheath-style gown of white bridal satin featuring a fitted bodice and train. The gown was made by the bride's mother. She carried a bouquet of white roses accented with tuberoses and bear grass.
Heather Lucas of Clearwater was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's sister-in-law, Lindsay Sardou of Florence and Nina Huffman of Nebraska. They wore black sheath dresses with white trim and carried three long-stem red roses.
The groom's brother, Amos Spencer served as best man. The bride's brother, Jared Sardou and Jeremy Sterling were groomsmen.
The bride's cousin, Larresa Kelpin, was flower girl. The groom's daughter, Nichole Spencer was ring attendant.
Guests were seated by Ron and Dorothy Widler of Marion.
Clark Whitwell of Marion was guest book attendant and Jeannie Wildin of Marion was in charge of gifts.
A reception followed the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. The bride's cousins, Jill, Verity, and Dale Kelpin, were reception attendants.
The bride graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in elementary education. Her husband is a concrete finisher for Designer Construction.
Following a wedding trip to Las Vegas, Disneyland, and the Catalina Islands in California, the couple lives in Salina.
