WEDDINGS: DeAnn and Michael Strotkamp
DeAnn Spencer and Michael Strotkamp were married July 20, 2002, in a candlelight ceremony at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro. Pastor Larry King officiated at the double ring rites.
The bride is the daughter of Darrell and Delores Spencer of Marion. Susan Strotkamp of Wichita and Johney Strotkamp of Burns are parents of the groom.
Candles were lighted preceding the ceremony by the groom's cousin, Cindy Davis of Wichita.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown fashioned with a sequin-trimmed bodice. The full-length skirt featured a flowing, cathedral-length train. She carried a cascading bouquet of white roses, gardenias, freesia, and alstromeria.
Dana Maize of Brentwood, Tenn., attended her sister as matron of honor. Keri Anderson of Peabody was bridesmaid. They wore full-length gowns of periwinkle blue satin.
Serving the groom as best man was his cousin, Jason Anderson of Peabody. Groomsman was James Scott of Peabody, also a cousin of the groom. All men in the wedding party were attired in black tuxedos.
Lexi Anderson, cousin of the groom, was flower girl. She wore a full-length gown of white satin and carried a basket containing rose petals. Ring bearer was the bride's nephew, Spencer Maize.
Guests were seated by the bride's cousins, Aaron Helmer and Ray Helmer, both of Marion.
During the lighting of the unity candle, the bride's sister and brother-in-law, James and Dana Maize, sang "Believe in Me."
Guest book attendant was Amy Helmer of Marion, cousin of the bride. Gifts were received by Crystal Strotkamp of Wichita, sister of the groom.
A reception was held in the church's fellowship hall following the ceremony. Reception attendants were Terri Bina and Traci Waner of Marion and Dawn Strotkamp and Cindy Davis of Wichita.
A short honeymoon was taken by the couple.
