What would be the best Christmas gift ever?
Ever since the three wise men brought gifts to the newborn baby, Jesus Christ, gifts have been an integral part of the Christmas celebration.
With that in mind, this week's Marion County Record holiday question is:
What would be the best Christmas gift anyone could ever give you?
Paula Ostmeyer, Marion, a nurse at St. Francis in Wichita:
"A clean house."
Connie Johnson, Burdick, Kitchenmaster employee at Lost Springs:
"I would have to say my Bowflex (exercise machine) that I already got for this Christmas is my best gift ever."
Betty Bevan, Lost Springs, substitute teacher:
"My best Christmas gift would be for Jesus to come back to earth."
Paula Ratzloff, Marion, housewife:
"A hug would be nice."
Darlene Sondergard, Ramona, senior citizen:
"My best Christmas gift is having the family all together and spending time with them."
Tony Zappone, Peabody, Spanish teacher at Marion High School:
"I would like there to be fewer casualties among the innocents like civilians and children in wars globally. Unfortunately, they often get hurt, too."
Richard Johnson, Marion, retired driver's license supervisor for Wichita area:
"Good health. I think we'd all like to have that."
Sue Gutsch, rural Lincolnville, nurse aid at St. Luke Living Center:
"I'm almost at the point in my life where the best Christmas gift would be 50 more years with my husband. I've seen what it does to people to lose their spouses."
Neva Hett, Marion, employee at The County Seat:
"That my family will all be there and be healthy."
Mary Jirak, Tampa, homemaker:
"My best gift this Christmas would be to be able to give appropriate thanks to God for all the many gifts He's given our family in this phenomenal year of 2002. I've come to realize He cannot be outdone in His love and generosity to us."
