Who moved my bed?
For months I have wanted to read the book, "Who Moved My Cheese?" Now my real question is — Who moved my bed? In fact it has been moved about six blocks from its original position.
In truth, my address now is Marion Manor. What a change! I must say I have received nothing but help and kindness. My family, friends, and neighbors helped to make the move fairly smooth. Everyone is trying to keep the "ol' lady" on her feet. I hope I can keep writing — I'll try.
I can't believe the Fourth has come and gone. I believe patriotism is especially strong since 9/11. I was able to see the fine fireworks the country club shot off. I guess it's all right to blow up a little money once a year — got to have a little fun in this serious old world.
I enjoyed reading the nice write-up about the California sisters who are trying to perk up Ramona. They are doing a great job. I understand that quite a few small towns are trying to "freshen up" and make themselves heard. That is just great.
Be proud citizens wherever you are. Marion has always done pretty well in that department. If someone gets a good idea, don't be afraid to speak to the city commissioners or the city manager. You never know — sometimes something really silly turns out to be great. I think people want to help to make life more interesting. Look how Oprah pushed reading books. Now the girl on Regis Philbin's morning show is having fun doing that.
