Wildcats take on Herington
Marion Middle School Lady Wildcats took on the Herington Railers Thursday and lost the battle.
The A-team lost the first game 13-25. They won the second game 25-14, and lost the third game 8-15. Lana Carroll and Kristen Waner made nine for nine serves. Kimber Hardey and Lauren Helmer made seven for seven. Kimber had two sets and Tacy Taylor had one set. Austin Percell had 1 spike.
The B-team won the first game 25-12. They lost the second and third games, 22-25 and 15-17, respectively. Amber Ratzloff made nine out of 10 serves. Megan Schmidt made seven out of eight serves, and Lizzy Covarrubias made five of six. Valeree Hett had six sets.
The C1-team split with the Railers. The first game was 14-23, and the second game was 18-14. Katie Maag made five of six serves, and Bea Holub made four of five serves. Lucy Collett made three of three and D.J. Gore was two for two.
The C2-team also split with Herington. The first game was 15-19, and the second game was 30-9. Hannah Rogers and Jessica Cleveland both made 12 for 12 serves. Jessica Timm made 10 for 10 serves.
The Lady Wildcats A and B teams travel Tuesday to Southeast of Saline for a tournament, and play Wichita Independent Oct. 2 at home. A B-team tournament will be held Oct. 4 at Marion Elementary School.
