Wishing on my own star
Thirty-six thousand five hundred are the days of my life. Forget the hours, minutes, and seconds — too much math for my brains.
Yes, I did it (with lots of help). I reached my 100th birthday! What a celebration! All my descendants came from Oregon, California, Tennessee, Arizona, Colorado, and Kansas. They all had a part in helping me celebrate. My children Wanda, Bud, and Mary, with their spouses Lavonne and Bob went all out and the grandchildren and "greats" pitched right in.
They organized a parade and horns and paper hats were plentiful. Two young boys, Tom and Will played "Happy Birthday" on their trumpets. Then all took me to the yard of the Presbyterian church and presented me with a beautiful tree in my honor.
Following that we had a great party in fellowship hall. I wish I cold have visited with everyone privately. How wonderful to see so many relatives and friends.
Thanks to all for the beautiful cards, flowers, and gifts. There were supposed to be no gifts but of course like a little kid I loved them.
One gift was a new idea for me — my two nieces, Barb and Jean from Oregon, gave me my own star. It is registered in the International Star Registry in Switzerland. I have a map to show where it is. Now I can make wishes on my very own star!
I guess I can come down from cloud nine. If I do I'll write about something besides me.
Hope you all make it to that century mark. What fun!
