Young Warriors lose four

It was another tough week for Marion-Florence/Peabody-Burns baseball team as it dropped four games to fall to 0-7 on the season.
A trip April 17 to Sacred Heart proved too much for the Warriors as they dropped the games, 17-0 and 12-0.
Thursday they returned home to face Halstead. After hanging close with the Dragons in game one, they came up short, 6-3.
Game two ended with Halstead coming on top, 11-0.
At Salina, Chase Williams managed the only hit in two games for the Warriors.
The bats woke up a little bit for MFPB with seven hits and three runs in the first game of the Halstead doubleheader.
Matt Thierolf was 1-3 with two RBIs, Dustin Burnett added another RBI, and Wil Case was 1-3 with a triple and a run scored.
Daniel Brassfield pitched a complete game for the Warriors, yielding eight hits and all six runs.
Williams once again provided the team's only hit in the second game, while Calvin Jeffrey and Brian Fruechting were on the mound for the Warriors.
A young team, MFPB has yet to find its place on the field, but head coach Shaun Craft knows the talent is there.
"We're getting there, you can see a little progress here and there," Craft said. "The biggest thing is consistency."
In a tough league, the Warriors can't ever have a night off if they want to be successful.
"It's just not together," he said. "We get a hit here and a hit there. They just don't come at the right moment."
Still, Craft knows if the team can get hot at the end of the season, anything can happen.
"All you can do is improve from day-to-day," he said. "It's a long season. Anything can happen if everything comes together at the right moment."
The Warriors played Tuesday at home against Collegiate, and will travel Friday to play Hoisington.
