Roseva McLinden returned Tuesday from her trip to Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, and Ohio. She took a boat trip and train trip to view the scenery.
Mary Beth and Greg Bowers, Leonard Klassen, and Eileen Sieger reported attending the farm auction of Helen and Benard Stromberg's lifetime collection. In spite of the weather there was a big crowd and things sold well.
Cy Goertz attended church Sunday at Burdick United Methodist Church and participated in the celebration of the burning of the mortgage for their building addition. He also attended the potluck dinner.
Rosalie and Leonard Klassen attended the Learning in Retirement class Thursday morning at Tabor and heard a program on the National Bell Ringer. Rosalie and Leonard's Friday afternoon visitors were Fern Jost and Lois Jost. The Klassens took Lois and June Jost to Florence Sunday evening to hear the music program of Mark and Nancy Moore.
Leon and Cate Hayen visited Dorothy Hayen at St. Luke Living Center on their way home Monday from visiting their son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Sheila, in Oklahoma City.
Wanda Coe visited Saturday with Roy and Rose Olive Hett. Rose Olive took cake to Marion Manor on Friday to help Roy celebrate his birthday.
Mary Lou and Kyle Just came Friday to David and Shirley Bowers home and spent the night. They were joined Saturday by Doug and Janelle Paden, Matthew, Abigail, and Jonathan, and Mary Beth and Greg Bowers, Rhonny and Luke. All ate supper together.
Shirley helped serve the FFA banquet Thursday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. Shirley hosted Athena Study Club Tuesday afternoon at September Apartments. She gave the lesson.
Shirley Bowers, Mary Mae Hett, Jocelyn Classen, Vivian Conyers, Janet Bryant, and Judy Priest drove to Burdick United Methodist Church Wednesday evening for their guest night. Judy Priest gave the program.
Shirley and David Bowers took a walk Sunday afternoon and visited Roy Hett at Marion Manor. Rose Olive also was visiting there.
Brendan and Tina Kraus were home this weekend visiting Don and Vickie Kraus. Nick and Stephanie Kraus joined them Sunday for dinner.
Dennis Kraus had four-bypass open-heart surgery Friday at Wichita. Rita and Raymond Kraus spent the day Friday with him. They drove to Wichita Monday morning to visit him again. Hope for a speedy recovery.
Mary Beth Bowers and Luke were guests at the FFA banquet Thursday at Eastmoor. Mary Beth is leaving Wednesday for Alaska where she will visit Ben and Natasha Bowers and granddaughter, Skyler, who live in Palmer, Alaska.
I drove to Wichita Saturday and shopped with my sister, Jo Gearheart. I spent the night with Marj and Joe Johnson. Marj served birthday dinner to all of us Sunday to celebrate Emily's 19th birthday. I returned home Sunday afternoon.
