We were sorry to hear Roy Hett died Sunday. Funeral services are Tuesday at Eastmoor. Our sympathy goes to Rose Olive, Glen and Wanda, and the grandkids.

Shirley and David Bowers had Saturday lunch with Randy and Betsy Bunnel in Welda. Betsy went with them to Chanute in the afternoon to the wedding of Phillip Hett and Kimberly Peck. Phillip is the grandson of Wilma and Homer Hett. He graduated from Bethany College this spring and will be working in Newton at Trinity United Methodist Church as a youth director.

Shirley Bowers helped serve the annual Marion County Historical Society banquet Tuesday evening at Eastmoor. Shirley and Margaret Ireland went to the monthly UMW meeting Wednesday afternoon at Eastmoor.

Jackie Hett attended the 80th birthday party for Gerri Williams Sunday afternoon at the senior center. Gerri had made a quilt for each of her six children when they got married and several for the grandchildren. These quilts were on display at her party and the grandchildren modeled the clothing she had made throughout her lifetime. The highlight was the wedding dress she made for Shelly. It was white velvet and covered with bead work. Melinda Helmer and Lauren and James Dauthery spent Sunday night with Jackie Hett.

Virginia Downing and John Hayen took Dorothy Hayen to church Sunday morning and then to Florence to eat. Leon Hayen of Topeka was here a couple of days this past week visiting Dorothy and helping John with farm work.

Jeannine Bateman attended the spring potluck dinner at Friendly Acres. She visited with her mother, Alvina Skibbe, took her shopping, and just had a great day.

Howard and Beth Collett attended the historical society banquet Tuesday evening at Eastmoor and enjoyed Helen Beckham's speech. Beth attended the library program Thursday evening and enjoyed the talk on "Women on the Santa Fe Trail."

Edmund Steiner and Vicki Smolik attended the 80th birthday party and dance Sunday afternoon at the Caprice in Wichita honoring Florian Silhan.
