Tim and Becky Makovec, Morgan and Tyler hosted a Father's Day celebration Friday evening in their home. Guests were Vicki Smolik, Edmund Steiner, Paul and Kathy Swan, Jerry and Faye Makovec, and Justin and Katrina Griffin, Kandace and Kassidy.

Edmund Steiner and Vicki Smolik attended the wedding and reception Saturday afternoon of Kevin and Emily Christinat in Wichita. Edmund and Vicki attended the 50th wedding anniversary open house and reception of Delores and Dwayne Stroda Sunday afternoon in Herington at the Catholic church hall. Vicki went to her cousin, George Holub's, funeral Thursday morning at the Pilsen church.

Clarice and Bill Hammer and Brent and Paula Hayen visited Dorothy Hayen recently. Dorothy and John went to the mortuary Monday evening to visit the family of Roy Hett. Virginia Downing, Leonard and Rosalie Klassen, Shirley and David Bowers, Eileen Sieger, Eleanor and Ray Davidson, and Margaret Ireland reported attending funeral services Tuesday morning of Roy Hett.

Kristine Bateman spent the weekend with her mother, Jeannine Bateman. Jeannine accompanied Nancy Weeks, president-elect of the National County Treasurers' Association, to Rugby, N.D., this past week where she was the guest speaker of the North Dakota Treasurers' Association.

Diana Jost and Cy Goertz drove to Greeley, Colo., for four days this past week to visit Beth and Nick Weibert. Diana and Clint Jost and James served Father's Day dinner to Cy. They came to Cy's home Sunday evening and picked cherries and had supper with him.

Shirley and David Bowers and Janelle Paden drove to the Kansas City area Sunday evening to the home of Bev and Kevin Jennison. Brian and Shelinda Bowers and family served a Father's Day supper to David and Shirley Bowers, Janelle Paden, and Bev and Kevin Jennison. The David Bowers spent the night with Bev and Kevin and drove on to Manchester, Iowa, where they attended funeral services Tuesday morning of Gladys Bowers, wife of Wilferd Bowers. Greg and Mary Beth Bowers left Monday to attend the funeral services of his aunt, Gladys.

Pat and Daryl Enos and Mitch brought Father's Day dinner to Charles Kjellin. Greg Bowers, Stephen, Rhonny, and Luke and Arnold Boettcher were additional guests.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bales of Lewis and Mr. and Mrs. George Bales of Topeka visited Tuesday afternoon with Rose Olive Hett. Glen and Pam Hett and Rose Olive had severe storm damage Tuesday morning at their homes. Rose Olive lost her garage and a tree limb fell across her car. Lots of trees were down and plants were destroyed. Friends gathered Tuesday evening to help remove the storm damage.

Roseva McLinden visited Sunday afternoon with John Snelling.

Rick and Collette Erickson and Keith Collett and Hank were Sunday callers at the Howard Collett home.

Skip and Eileen Sieger celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary Wednesday by cutting wheat. They were rained out Thursday so went out to dinner to celebrate the anniversary a day late.

Vernon and Rachel Friesen of Hillsboro visited Sunday afternoon with Leonard and Rosalie Klassen. Ivanlee and Mary Ann Timm visited Sunday evening at the Klassen home. Leonard and Rosalie were in Wichita Friday at the home of Vickie and Marv Fisher, Aaron and Allegra and celebrated Father's Day on Saturday. Norman and Doris Friesen of Bakersfield, Calif., had dinner Monday with Leonard and Rosalie Klassen at the senior center.
