Jeannine Bateman drove to Topeka Friday for the Republican Women's Kansas Day luncheon and meeting. Kristine and Jeannine attended the ice show, "Stars on Ice," Friday evening. Jeannine said the production was great.
Vicki Smolik, Edmund Steiner, Kathy and Paul Swan, and Becky and Tim Makovec, Morgan and Tyler were guests of Katrina Griffin and Kassidy in Emporia Sunday afternoon and evening for supper and a birthday party honoring Justin and Kandace Griffin. The men watched the ball game and the ladies visited.
Paula Hayen, after nine days in a hospital in Wichita, came home Friday. We are pleased she is feeling better.
Doug and Janelle Paden, Matthew, Abigail, and Jonathan stayed Friday night with David and Shirley Bowers. Shirley helped the Eastmoor ladies serve the hospital auxiliary dinner Tuesday night.
Alvina Hoffman and I had dinner Sunday at McGillicuddy's.
Eileen Sieger, Howard and Beth Collett, Keith and Anne Collett, and Margaret Ireland attended the hospital auxiliary annual meeting and dinner Tuesday night at Eastmoor. Keith gave a program on songs about blue birds. His programs always are great.
Friday supper guests of Mary Beth and Greg Bowers and Luke were Rick and Khrista Branson. Rick has been to Mexico on a mission trip and they enjoyed a good visit.
Shirley Bowers and I attended an Athena club meeting Tuesday afternoon at the home of Ruth Jo Penner.
Rosalie and Leonard Klassen visited Janelle Paden and Don and Bernice Friend in Newton Tuesday. The Klassens stopped to visit Alan and Dorothy Pankratz Tuesday evening near Hillsboro. Allen had fallen from a ladder and Leonard and Rosalie wanted to wish him well in his recovery. Calvin and Arlene Dahl have been visiting in the area for two weeks and spent Monday night with the Klassens before returning home Tuesday morning. Rosalie and Arlene went to McPherson Saturday.
Howard and Beth Collett met Rick and Collette Erickson and Don Argo at the Pizza Hut Thursday for supper, then attended the middle school ball game in which Hank Collett played. Keith and Anne Collett invited them to their home for coffee and dessert following the game.
There isn't much news. The weather is so cold people have stayed home to keep warm. I am carrying water to my horse. My outside water faucet has frozen and I can't get water there, so am carrying from the house. I am glad I have only one horse. I hope there will be better weather this week and people can get out.
