Harold and Virginia Bowers have returned home from South Texas where they spent the winter. Harold is celebrating his 90th birthday Saturday morning at McGillicuddy's from 9 to 11 o'clock. Friends who wish to congratulate him may stop during this time for a visit.

Eileen Sieger went to Emporia Wednesday and had lunch with her friend, Juanita Bonebrake. Eileen and several Marion women drove to Newton Saturday to attend the P.E.O. reciprocity luncheon at Carriage Factory Gallery. The theme was a Victorian high tea and was served on vintage china with several courses, including scones, Devonshire cream, and various sandwiches and pastries.

Carmen Parrack from Texas drove to Kansas Thursday to visit her mother, Dorothy Hayen. Brent and Paula Hayen from Hesston, Virginia Downing, and Marilyn Geis came Sunday afternoon to visit and they had a little party. Max and Donna came Sunday evening with a cake and enjoyed a visit with everyone.

Diana Jost visited her parents Cy and L. Dena Goertz on Saturday.

Alvina Hoffman was one of the hostesses for UMW at Eastmoor Wednesday. Shirley Bowers, Rose Olive Hett, and I also were at the meeting. Rose Olive and I called at the hospital to visit Rosalie Klassen before we attended the meeting.

Eleanor Davidson had surgery Friday at St. Luke Hospital and has been sharing a room with Rosalie. Rosalie came home today and will be recuperating at home for a few weeks.

I drove to Wichita Sunday and had lunch with my sister, Jo Gearheart. She took me to WSU Sunday evening to the senior flute recital of her granddaughter Sarah Gearheart. Jill Brown from Hillsboro and Marj and Emily Johnson joined us there and we had a good visit before the recital. Sarah is earning a degree in flute this spring and will continue at graduate school to prepare to teach some day on the college level.

Shirley Bowers went to Newton Saturday and attended the last soccer game of the season that grandson Johnathan Paden played in.
