Cy and L.Dena Goertz went to Burdick Sunday for the hamburger fry to raise money for the Relay for Life walk. The Burdick group raised more than $350 for the cancer benefit fund.

Dorothy and John Hayen had lunch Sunday in Florence. I visited Dorothy Monday afternoon and took cake. Brent visited one day last week at the Hayen farm. Paula had had chemotherapy treatment that day so stayed out of the heat.

Crystal Magee, daughter of Jackie and Dave Magee, were married July 15 on a mountainside in Colorado. They received one-tenth inch of rain which cooled things off. Virginia Downing and Mike, and Gayle and Ryan Thomas drove out for the wedding and will return Wednesday.

Ed Wheeler visited Roseva McLinden Tuesday afternoon. Patty McLinden and Roseva attended a bridal shower honoring Sabrina Forsberg Dunkin Sunday afternoon in Burdick. Sabrina's husband is in Iraq. Howard and Beth Collett spent the weekend in Jefferson City visiting Randy and Rachel Collett and family. Hank and Lucy went with them and Lucy stayed to visit Maggie this week.

The Harry Koslowskys invited the neighbors to view their garden one evening last week. Gerri Williams and Jackie Hett were among the group who enjoyed seeing the beautiful grounds. A replica of a one room school house, complete with outhouse and pump, was a featured item. The building is used as a potting shed. Redbirds mark the path that guests follow while viewing the garden.

Jackie Hett attended the Bible school program at Aulne United Methodist Church Sunday evening.

Aaron and Allegra Fisher were houseguests last week of Leonard and Rosalie Klassen. Elmer and Leonore Klassen joined the Klassens and Fishers Tuesday for supper. Friday night visitors at the Klassen farm were Don and Cora Sorenson, Kelsie and Keaton, stopping on their way home from a two week trip to Disney World in Florida. Kami and Kelly were with the family at Disney World, but did not make the trip to the Klassens.

Ethan Johnson spent several days last week with me. I took Ethan, Allegra, and Aaron Fisher swimming Friday afternoon and Aaron invited Ethan to play on the three-wheelers. Leonard Klassen made Ethan's summer by letting him drive the big four-wheeler. Ethan told his dad that is what he wants for Christmas. Dream on!! Ethan and I saw a movie Saturday afternoon in Newton and spent the night in Wichita. I prepared dinner Sunday for the family, following Marj and Joe's 20th wedding anniversary trip to Scott City. They showed us pictures on the computer of their room and described the meals.

Lesley Sieger spent the past two weeks visiting friends from here, Cheney, Emporia, and California. Skip and Eileen Sieger and Lesley took several day trips, including the Wichita Art Museum.
