The former Youngtown United Methodist Women, now known as Youngtown Women, will meet at 9 a.m. Feb. 21 for breakfast at the Stone City Café. All Youngtown women are invited to attend.

Greg and Mary Beth Bowers, Skip and Eileen Sieger, Roy and Rose Olive Hett, Shirley and David Bowers, and Leonard and Rosalie Klassen attended the Eastmoor Valentine banquet Sunday night at Eastmoor and the program following.

Vicki Smolik and Edmund Steiner visited Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ehlers in Newton Wednesday.

Cy and L.Dena Goertz took supper to Shirley and David Bowers Wednesday and spent the evening visiting.

David and Shirley Bowers and Beverly Jennison returned Tuesday afternoon from Montgomery, Ala., where they had attended the wedding of a missionary they had met while visiting in Nepal.

L.Dena Goertz has ordered more Youngtown cookbooks, so if you would like one, contact Shirley Bowers or L.Dena.

Greg and Mary Beth Bowers attended a luncheon and Gideon meeting Saturday at the Brookville Hotel in Abilene. Luke Bowers was a guest at Kirk Hanson's birthday party Saturday. They attended the movie, "Lord of the Rings," in Wichita.

Rhonny Bowers worked as a manager at the high school wrestling match held Saturday in Chase County.

Eileen Sieger attended the hospital auxiliary meeting Thursday morning.

Marilyn Cox picked up Alvina Hoffman Sunday morning and took her to church at Eastmoor. The Coxs took her to McGillicuddy's Sunday noon to eat lunch with the singles group and they took her to Marion Manor in the afternoon and she played piano before and during the church service there. David Bowers led the singing. Alvina visited Helen Stromberg and Thelma Jost at Marion Manor Sunday afternoon.

Rita and Raymond Kraus and Jerry and Faye Makovec attended the basket dinner and Mardi Gras celebration Sunday afternoon at the Marion activity center. Faye and Jerry attended the Knights of Columbus supper and dance Saturday night at the activity center.

Leonard and Rosalie Klassen had dinner in Newton Thursday night with Elmer and Leonore Klassen and Bernice and Don Friend.

Kim Rix of Wichita drove me to Howard Saturday afternoon for the funeral of my first cousin, Loretta Riggs. She died following a car accident in Florida. While in Howard, we visited my uncle and aunt, Lyle and Mary Taylor, who are in a care home there. I spent Saturday night with Marj and Joe Johnson and got to see Emily off Saturday evening to her military ball at Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. Emily has been promoted to captain in her junior ROTC group. She received ribbons Saturday night of outstanding junior cadet and outstanding performance. I drove back to Marion Sunday morning and was a guest of Charla Wheeler at the Valentine banquet at the Christian church.
