Your community newspaper

Your community and every community needs a newspaper, a publication worth paying for. That's the mission of this newspaper, to be your community voice, your governmental watchdog, share with you the events of the week, and provide a vehicle for merchants to use for advertising.

It's not a simple matter to bring such a newspaper to the readers of our area. We've been told that we do it well. We've received numerous professional awards in community journalism and keeping the public informed.

Others win awards for advertising design, feature writing, or such. Our intent is to bring you a complete newspaper, one fully devoted to the events of your community.

We've been doing it for decades and will continue as long as we have support from the people we serve.

They include the folks who plunk down the price of a paper, or subscription, and the merchants who advertise in this newspaper because they know it does the most good.

When those other guys come calling, spouting some grandiose scheme for skimming the cream off the advertising dollars by printing "fluff" news which doesn't address an issue — say "Thanks, but no thanks. I'll support my home town newspaper."
