Zeke Smith
William E. "Zeke" Smith Jr., 64, died March 10, 2002, at Wichita.
A ship fitter, he was retired from the U.S. Navy.
He formerly resided at Peabody, Potwin, Towanda, and Longton.
He was born Oct. 20, 1937, at Kansas City, Mo.
He married Florence Johnson Smith. She died July 26, 1988, in New Jersey.
On June 30, 1995, he was married to Edith Broyer at Potwin.
He grew up in the Potwin community, was a member of Potwin United Methodist Church, attended grade school and graduated from Potwin High School.
He joined the Navy in 1955 and retired in 1974.
He was preceded in death by his mother, stepfather, first wife, and two daughters, Mary Ann and Barbara Ann Smith.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Potwin, with the Rev. Jack Dickson officiating. Burial will be in the Potwin Cemetery.
Friends may visit, at Bob Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater, Thursday afternoon and evening.
Memorial funds have been established with the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
