Zogelman, Stubenhofer are students of the month
Heidi Zogelman and Tyler Stubenhofer have been named students of the month at Marion High School.
A senior, Heidi has been involved in many activities at MHS, including sports and music.
A two-year member of the MHS Singers, Heidi was one of the students who had the honor of performing in front of the Kansas Music Educators Association this past week.
"I really like it when our teachers are involved in our various activities," Heidi said.
She has been in the school choir and band four years, and was in the school musical one year.
In sports, Heidi is a four-year player on the girls' basketball team, played four years on the volleyball squad, and has played softball three years.
She's also been a member of National Honor Society for three years, and on the student council three years.
When she's not involved in school, Heidi attends Holy Family Catholic Church and religion classes.
Heidi is the daughter of Nick and Sharon Zogelman, 120 W. Fourth, Florence. She has one sister, Katie.
Heidi plans to continue her education next year, although she is undecided which college she will attend. Currently, she's leaning toward Washburn University in Topeka.
For Tyler Stubenhofer, one of his favorite activities while attending MHS has been playing basketball.
A three-year member of the Warriors' basketball squad, Tyler began playing basketball as a youngster on the driveway at his home.
"This is the seventh year I've played competitively," Tyler said. "I started in fifth grade."
Besides basketball, Tyler has been a member of the football team three years, and on the track squad two.
Interested in academics as well as sports, Tyler has been a Scholars Bowl team member two years, on the National Honor Society two years, and involved with student council one year.
Outside of school, Tyler is a member of the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) and helped with Marion REC Biddy Basketball.
A junior at MHS, Tyler is the son of Missy and Steve May, 720 S. Roosevelt, Marion.
