The State Temperance Union will hold a field day rally in Marion and Marion County on Sunday, September 27th.

J.H. Hoch and L.F. Keller and their wives are spending a few days this week over on Middle creek, camping and fishing.

The new building on west Main street erected by the Marion Produce Co. is about completed, so much so that the company is beginning to use it and tear away the old building on the west.

Roy Sumner held a very successful opening at his Youngtown store last Saturday afternoon and evening.

The citizens over in Peabody are making preparations for Oct. 3, the day the Anti-Horse Thief Association holds its second annual picnic. They have arranged a program of races and contests of every kind. Among the entries in the half-mile trot is Karnival King, owned by R. Williams of this city.

Last Saturday, Prof. C.E. St.John went to Florence to confer with superintendents of Hillsboro, Peabody, Florence, and Burns regarding of organization of a basket ball league.

Mr. F.L. Krueger of Madison, one of the owners of the electric light and ice plant, spent a portion of last week talking with Marion’s business men about electric lights for Marion. Mr. Krueger was the guest of S.K. Warrensburg while here.
