Because of a difference of a few thousand dollars in lot pricea, Midlands Farm Services, agent for Scully Estates, is relocating from Marion to Hillsboro.

Jenna Tajchman, a 2002 graduate of Centre High School, recently completed a two-year mission to Moldova under auspices of the Peace Corps. It wasn’t Jenna’s first experience abroad. She spent a summer in the Czech Republic while attending Kansas State University.

Artwork by local attorney Dean Batt is on display at Marion City Library during the month of December.

Marion High School’ scholars bowl team qualified Dec. 5 to compete Jan. 30 in “Quest,” Washburn University’s televised quiz show. Team members are Sam Ehrlich, Patrick Hodson, D.J. Obermeyer, Monica Spachek, Derek Stuchlik, and Eric Vogel.

Judy Christensen, president of Marion Lions Club, is pictured as she presents a $1,000 check to Marion librarian Janet Marler. The money will be used to purchase large print books for use by readers with impaired vision.
