Jerry Kline is pictured as he shows some of his toy tractor collection at Marion Senior Center. He bought his first toy tractor, a 1947 John Deere, when he was about 10 years old. Kline had to work hard to make enough money to buy the toys and has managed to hang on to many of his original ones.

Marion High School juniors and seniors dressed in their newest and finest Saturday evening for their annual promenade, banquet, and dance. Pictured is Wil Case as he escorts Shanna Kline to the banquet.

Midway Motors and Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce will have a groundbreaking ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday at the auto dealer’s future site, Ash St. and US-56 in Hillsboro.

Marion High School’s construction class did framework at the site of the new home for the Ryan Newell family. Pictured doing concrete work Friday at the site are Les Riggs and Brian Fruechting.

Lauren Pickens, Peabody-Burns High School standout, was named most valuable female runner Friday at Shocker Pre-State Classic at Wichita State University. She placed first in all three events in which she competed, breaking records.
