Santa parked his sleigh on the roof of Bob Brookens’ law office Sunday and dismounted to the street to hear Christmas wishes of children assembled to talk to him.
According to Noreen Weems, Marion County emergency preparedness director, community nuclear attack shelters have been designated in a crisis plan recently approved by the Kansas Emergency Preparedness Division.
Tena Maggard, Marion, won the $50 prize Sunday during the first in a series of drawing during Marion’s annual Christmas celebration. Esther Sanders of Marion was winner of a $10 fourth-place drawing. Total cash prizes amount to $200 a week.
