Representatives of the U.S. Corps of Army Engineers will be in Marion on Dec. 9 to consider combined problems and possibilities of flood control and water supply on Mud Creek through Marion. This survey has been authorized by Congress.
Jane Brunner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Brunner of Ramona, was crowned 1964 homecoming queen at Centre High School on Oct. 16. Her attendants were Barbara Riffel, Kathy Kroupa, and Pauline Winter.
A new, all-steel building has been constructed and a new wood structure office is being built for Bob Vinduska’s Pilsen Automotive Machine and Repair Shop.
Nine seniors will conclude their Marion High School football careers this Friday at a game in Council Grove. They are Francis Breech, Larry Ensey, Dale Fowler, Gilbert Johnson, Dick Maggard, Ed Parrack, Gene Schimpf, Dennis Swanson, and Richard Winter.
Mr. and Mrs. Dean Ollenberger and their two small children of Hillsboro moved to the county jail last weekend and will take their new position as residents in charge of the jail. They replace Mr. and Mrs. Pete Pankratz, who have moved back to their former home here.
