Preliminary work has been underway for the past few days at the Kaw Theatre in preparation for remodeling the marquee and lobby. Principal addition will be a modern “Lobby Shop.” that will offer popcorn, candy, soft drinks, etc.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob DeCatsye, who formerly owned and operated the Del Mar café here, are now operating the Horner Café, Florence.

Marion Pharmacy, under the ownership of Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Phillips, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this week. Along with Rexall’s 46th anniversary, they are offering a number of special items in observance of the event.

The cast of the upcoming Civic Theatre play, “You Can’t Take It With You,” is announced this week. Cast members include Richard Brodhead, Vashti Loney, Francis Roberts, Charles and Margaret Davis, George H. DeBoer, Arline Irwin, Paul Hansen, Jack Barrett, Bertha Mathiot, Max Dunn, Viola Kelsey, Berle Broadstreet, Joan Wight, Jerry Heath, Ed Stocking, Monette Avery, Keith Kelsey, and Bill Meyer.

An informational meeting will be held Friday in the Chamber of commerce office at the Marion Pharmacy to make plans for re-activating the Civil Air Patrol here.
