The new Youngtown church building will be dedicated Sunday just 2 months 18 days from when excavation for the basement began Aug. 4. The old church, erected in 1908, was destroyed by a tornado May 20.

Tool dresser Earle Rogers and driller Dave Weathers are pictured as they finish capping a well on Rosie Holub’s land five miles north of Marion. The well may be a good producer of both gas and oil, according to W.H. Slusser, drilling contractor and partner with Alpine Oil Co. in the venture.

The interior of Meier Shoe Clinic recently has been remodeled, providing more selling space and a better, more attractive display room.

Mrs. C. J. Ecker successfully surprised her son, Dale, with a dinner Tuesday noon celebrating his 18th birthday. Invited guests were Norman Bredemeier, Tim Burkholder, Monty Frazier, James Nansen, Junior Powell, and Kent Richmond.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hein have purchased the Del Mar Coffee Shop from Mrs. Wayne Johnson and took over operation this week. They are the parents of Mrs. Lee Greenemeyer and Harvey, each of whom is associated with other restaurants in Marion.
