Two new cases of polio have been reported in Marion County during the past week. Robert Neuwirth, 10, and Robert Holmes, 16, both of Lincolnville, came down with polio on the same day, Nov. 16, and are in Wichita hospitals.

The Marion Warriors, sparked by Buddy Hannaford, came though a clean, hard fought football game Friday night with Council Grove, emerging victorious and remaining at the top of the Cottonwood Valley League. The Warriors will play their final game of the year Thanksgiving Day at Peabody.

Longhofer Supply announces this week that it has taken over the dealership of Allis Chalmers farm machinery for Marion. The line formerly was handled by Nelson Super Service, which has gone out of the machinery business to concentrate more on Pontiac and GMC sales.

Patsy Hett was chosen queen of the Warriors for the homecoming football game Friday night. Attendants were Laura Jane Bredemeier and Nora Zeller.

Free shows and treats for kids, decorations from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day, and prizes for decorated homes are to be part of Marion’s Christmas program.
