REPORTED

These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Indigo Rd. north of 110th Rd.

Douglas L. Taylor, 68, Hillsboro, hit a deer at 6:40 p.m. Jan. 12 with his 2004 GMC Sierra, which remained drivable despite damage to its front and hood.

US-56 east of K-15/Bison Rd.

Cole X. Ungaro, 28, rural Durham, hit a deer at 5:40 a.m. Jan. 13 with his 2005 GMC Sierra, which sustained damage termed disabling to its front and hood but did not require a tow truck.

K-150 west of Zebulon Rd.

Lily B.J. Ogden, 19, Alma, hit a deer at 8:27 p.m. Jan. 15 with her 2012 Ford Escape, which was towed with damage to its front, right, and undercarriage.

3rd St. north of Welch St., Marion

Kodi D. Kelsey, 55, Marion, hit a deer at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 18 with her 2016 Ford Explorer, which was damaged on its right side but remained drivable.

HILLSBORO

100 and 300 blocks of S. Ash St.

Earl A. Kuhn, 63, Derby, was ticketed for having an oversize load after a 16-foot-wide swather he was pulling sideswiped two legally parked vehicles shortly before 11 a.m. Jan. 16.

Kuhn was traveling south on Ash St. in a 1996 Ford F-350, pulling a New Holland swather, when the swather scraped the left sides of a 2002 Ford Escape owned by Aron L. Miller in the 100 block and a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Donald W. Leonard Jr. in the 300 block. Both live nearby.

Kuhn told police oncoming traffic had caused him to drive too far to the right. He thought his swather had hit only the mirror of one vehicle. However, the full scope of the accident was recorded on surveillance video and witnessed by a driver who was following Kuhn.

Jesse A. Kuhn, 28, of the same Derby address, was a passenger in the pickup.

Both Leonard’s pickup and Miller’s car, which appeared to have had a larger area damaged, remained drivable. Some damage was reported on the swather, as well.

US-56 west of Adams St.

Hillsboro schools superintendent Clint D. Corby, 42, Hillsboro, notified police the next morning that he had hit a coyote at 8:20 p.m. Jan. 18 with his 2018 Nissan Rogue.

Heather M. Corby, 42, and Emerson C. Corby, 11, of the same address were passengers.

Corby’s sport-utility vehicle remained drivable despite damage to its front and undercarriage.

Sonic Drive-In parking lot

Barbara J. Scheele, 64, rural Hillsboro, hit an ordering kiosk while backing her 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 out of a parking stall Sunday and then scraped the side of the pickup while attempting to pull forward.

She did not report the accident until later, when she discovered the extent of the scraping.

Sandra M. Scheele of a different Hillsboro address was a passenger.
