These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
US-56 west of Old Mill Rd.
Myra K. Adam, 60, Herington, hit a deer at 7:44 p.m. Jan. 31 with her 2012 Ford Escape, which sustained damage deemed minor to its left front.
Jade Rd. at 190th Rd.
A front bumper on a 2017 Ford Expedition that was stopped at a stop sign on Jade Rd. was clipped by a 2000 Chevrolet S10 turning left from 190th Rd. at 7:50 a.m. Jan. 29.
Detective Aaron Christner’s report blamed the accident on inattentive driving by the pickup’s owner and driver, Lowell Foth, 68, of Hillsboro. No tickets were issued.
Damage to his truck and the Ford, owned and driven by Cheryl L. Duerksen, 39, rural Lehigh, was deemed minor.
Tanner Duerksen, 11, and Claire Duerksen, 8, of the same address were passengers in the Ford.
US-77 north of 13th Rd.
Gavin R. Devinney, 18, Augusta, slid a 2015 Dodge Dart into a ditch on icy roads at 10 a.m. Jan. 27.
Deputy Bruce Burke’s report blamed the accident on inattentive driving as well as the weather, but no tickets were issued.
The car sustained disabling damage to its front third and undercarriage and was towed.
